Milia...those white bumps under skin...Why exfoliation is so important

Milia..... those little white bumps under the skin– sort of faux pimples.  Milia are formed when a pore becomes blocked with dead skin cells.  They are more common as we get older,  the result of slower cell growth.  Unlike the garden variety pimple, they do not contain oil or bacteria  so they don’t become red and inflamed.   Milia  just sit there. Forever.

Regular exfoliation promotes new cell growth.  I recommend trying Noevir's Quick Recovery Mask.  Use it two to three times a week.

The Benefits

  • Proper skin exfoliation is the most important step in skin care. By contributing to the removal of dull surface layers of skin, exfoliation allows the youthful and vibrant skin below to break through. As a result, skin looks and feels healthier, smoother and softer. The dullness and unsightly blemishes such as blackheads are sloughed off, pores are unclogged and minimized and skin is refined. Thus, exfoliation is touted as the best process to promote healthy skin followed by cleansing and moisturizing. Regular exfoliation keeps skin healthy by encouraging skin regeneration and the growth of new skin cells, which results in skin that is acne-free and beautiful. To reap the full benefits of exfoliation, it is recommended that skin be exfoliated about twice a week. Exfoliating too often or using products that are too harsh can result in skin that is overly dry by stripping away the body's essential oils. Follow an exfoliating procedure by applying a soothing moisturizer.

    Unmask your Moist Radiant Skin

Regular masking is important because it removes dead skin cells and imbedded impurities that accumulate on the skin. If not removed regularly, these accumulations will prevent newer, brighter cells from surfacing, which causes your skin to look dull and uneven. It can also clog pores, leading to blackheads and whiteheads. Therefore, to help your skin look its best and maintain a healthy glow, it is important to mask two to three times a week. Regular masking dramatically improves your skin's appearance and helps to maximize the benefits of your skincare products.

Quick Recovery Mask is excellent for all skin types–especially for dull complexion, uneven skin tone, rough texture and clogged pores.

Soft touch.... The benefits of facial massage

Want younger-looking skin? Here's the rub: Facial massage can firm, smooth and sculpt.       Beauty secrets of the Far East have long held appeal for Western women. But it's only recently that one of their key anti-aging weapons has entered the spotlight. Facial massage - a series of hand manipulation techniques that relax muscles and increase circulation - has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and has been practiced for more than 1,000 years to maintain health and beauty. Now, some of the biggest beauty brands are offering products that work best when coupled with specific massage techniques. "The theory in TCM is that your facial appearance is a reflection of your body's internal condition," says Mary Xiumei Wu, a doctor of TCM and president of the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. "For instance, a kidney deficiency can show up as deep, dark circles under your eyes." While massage alone won't treat inter...
