Massage Away Those Puffy Eyes!

Massage away those puffy eyes:

Bags under eyes and puffy eyes can be attributed to a build up of fluid around the eyes and can be particularly noticeable first thing in the morning.

One of the suggested ways to help drain the fluid is to massage around the eye area. Always ensure that you start with a clean face. Massage the cream or oil around the eye area using your fingertips and using enough to allow your fingers to glide easily on your face. Use only a very light textured oil or cream as massage medium to prevent stretching or stressing this fragile area of skin.

Tie long hair away from your face to prevent the oil or cream getting into your hair.

Place the ring finger of each hand into the inner corners of each eye and press down very gently for around three or four seconds, relax and then slide the fingers gently underneath your eyes towards your temples. Gently massage in a circular movement around the temples and then slide your fingers back gently to the inner corners of your eyes and start again. Repeat this action seven or eight times.

Using the ring fingers again make complete circles around each eye, beginning at the inner corners, over the eyebrows to the outer corner and then under your eyes including your upper cheeks. Repeat at least five times.

When you are finished doing the massage, remove the oil/cream from around your eyes by gently washing the area with a very gentle cleanser, or remove the excess oil by blotting it with a tissue. Make sure to remove all the excess oil or cream from the corners of your eyes.

Try these techniques in front of a mirror regularly until they become second nature. Soon you may see an improved appearance in the skin around your eyes and a reduction in the puffiness and those bags under your eyes.

More tips:
Of spoons and iced water: The puffiness of the eyes can be reduced with the help of a glass of ice water and four stainless steel spoons. Chill the spoons in the water and then place one over each eye. Keep switching the spoons while letting the other one chill in the glass of water. Keep switching until you see improvement.
 
Another way to reduce puffiness around the eyes is to apply ice cubes to them. Gently press an ice cube against your eyes for about 10 minutes. If the ice cubes get too cold, take a small break. After you have removed the ice cubes from your eyes, pat them dry with towel.
